Equality Australia

The Snow Foundation believes all couples should be free to marry and that is why the Foundation proudly supported the Marriage Equality Campaign from the very beginning. The Foundation became one of the cornerstone supporters of the campaign and advocated with a coalition of philanthropists to ensure the movement had capacity to delivery reform. On 15 November 2017, we heard loud and clear that fairness and equality are at the heart of our Australian society. The YES campaign recevied 61.6% of the national vote, with Canberra delivering the highest YES vote of 75%. In December, Parliament said YES to Marriage Equality. Equality Australia is Australia's first national legal advocacy and campaigning organisation for LGBTIQ+ people, built from the Equality Campaign. Equality Australia continues its vital advocacy work across the country. System change takes time, and we're pleased to continue to provide core funding.
