Overview
In one of the largest donations ever, the Foundation gave $2 million to further the Australian Government's pledge of $4 million for quality, palliative care in Canberra. Clare Holland House is a facility that has touched the lives of many Canberrans. The expansion project provides an additional eight palliative care in-patient beds, accommodating a further 250 patients a year. A community fundraiser also contributed funds to assist with extra furnishings, landscaping and gardens, to create an extra special home for patients and their friends and family.
We were thrilled to have been part of this project from the very beginning, as members on the steering committee and project control group.
It is our hope this expansion will allow more Canberrans to live with dignity, with their families nearby, through their final days.
