Snow Foundation and University of Canberra partner to expand pathways to higher education

18 November 2024

Snow Scholarships

We’re thrilled to announce Snow Scholarships – a transformative new scholarship program, partnering with the University of Canberra for a commitment of 160 scholarships over 10 years, valued at $20 million.

We believe in the power of education as a driver of change and Snow Scholarships builds on our existing scholarship program already benefitting 76 students each year, through other partners, starting with Queanbeyan High School 18 years ago.

Snow Scholarships will create opportunities for students who may face barriers to higher education and live in Canberra and regional/rural NSW, supporting up to 16 scholars every year. The scholars will each receive financial support valued up to $30,000 per year for the duration of their degree, as well as a holistic leadership program. It is one of the most generous and supportive scholarship programs in Australia.

At the heart of the future Snow Scholar community will be the inclusive cohort, reflecting a diversity of cultures, backgrounds, experiences, genders, identities, ages and academics, and up to 25% will be Indigenous.
Our vision is to attract students with smart minds and big hearts and to enable them to reach their potential and make meaningful contributions to their communities and beyond. The ripple effect of the Snow Scholarships will be profound, aiming to nurture the next generation of globally aware and socially conscious leaders across sectors whether in community, business, science, law, health or politics.

Exciting times ahead – we can’t wait till we see who the Snow Scholars will be, the leaders they will become and the impact they will have.
