The Funding Network (TFN) is returning to Canberra on Thursday 21 September and three local grassroots organisations addressing social disadvantage in the Canberra community will benefit. TFN is a fresh approach to capacity building for grassroots non-profit organisations and social enterprises that harnesses the power of live crowdfunding. Again, it is brought to you by the Canberra Airport, The Snow Foundation and The Vibe Hotel, as well as partners Deloitte, Clayton Utz and the Aspen Foundation.
At the inaugural TFN in 2016 the generous Canberra community showed Australia how it was done and collectively raised over $80,000 that was spread across the four pitching organisations: Abundant Water; Global Sisters; Paperworks and Malpa.
This year the three organisations pitching on the evening are:
- GG’s Flowers – offering education, training and employment opportunities for people with special needs at GG’s social enterprise florist.
- Women’s Centre for Health Matters – improving the health and well-being of local women who have escaped domestic violence situations.
- Mental Illness Education ACT – supporting youth with mental illness through education and awareness programs.
Tickets to the event are $20 which includes drinks and canapés. All money raised from tickets sales will be equally distributed to each of the three organisations pitching on the evening.
Thursday 21 September from 5.30pm to 8.30pm at Vibe Hotel, 1 Rogan Street, Canberra Airport, Pialligo. Tickets can be purchased here.
